mom sues daycare

Shannon Galofaro wanted the best for her daughter. She made the decision to place her two-year-old into the care of the Sunshine Learning Center.

She was confident that little Makala would be safe and cared for. Instead, she was exposed to every parent’s worst nightmare.

A 21-year-old teacher took a picture while Makala was innocently napping. The toddler was curled on her tummy with her little bottom in the air.

Her panties were pulled down around her ankles and her dress was up around her waist.

The teacher posted the picture on Snapchat with the caption, “This girl is ready for a three day weekend.” She placed an emoji over Makala’s face.

To make matters worse, the school did not report the incident to Shannon until a week later.

They told her that the teacher had been fired and the picture had been deleted. This was the full extent of their investigation. They had not informed the police.

It was an incomprehensible situation. The picture and caption were nothing short of child pornography.

The daycare not only broke the law, but they attempted to cover-up the situation.

Another outraged teacher took it upon herself to contact the police. Social services began an investigation and the case is being handled by the district attorney’s office.

Shannon was horrified. She is taking action to protect her daughter and ensure the safety of other children at the daycare.

Makala is currently in therapy twice a week. Shannon has filed a lawsuit against Cadence Education, the parent company of Sunshine Learning Center.
