teacher slap student face

Education is an undeniably important thing. The school, as an institution, is one of the fundamental ways in which we teach our children the basics of what they need to know.

The educators within a school system guide children along their path to integrating into society. They are often massive influences on impressionable young children, and hold a large degree of responsibility in molding and shaping the future generation.

So when a teacher begins doing something harmful, parents and members of the public alike immediately take notice.

In this case, the teacher had been physically abusive to the students under his care. A boy nicknamed Xiaochen was a senior at a Suyu High School when he came home one day with a bright red, massive palm print across his face.

The reason for the color?

According to the reports, his teacher at the secondary school had repeatedly slapped the boy’s face 12 times. This had actually left prominent marks that are visible in the shape of a palm.

The slaps were so hard, the fact that the instructor had left a red mark on Xiaochen’s face was the least of the boy’s injuries.

At the hand of the teacher, the senior secondary school student had also suffered the burst of a few blood vessels near his eye, a concussion, and even temporary hearing loss.

It was severe enough an injury that he had to be hospitalized for treatment at Suqian Chinese Medicine Hospital.

Reports state that Xiaochen had incurred his educator’s wrath during a self-study session, where the victim had been talking with a fellow schoolmate.

The educator then slapped another girl, before dragging the boy from his seat. He then proceeded to slap him in front of the other students.

Horrified at the physical abuse their child has suffered, a police report has been filed against the educator in question by the family.

The city’s Education Ministry, in response to the reported incident, has already dismissed the teacher. The teacher’s bonus from the last academic year has also been reportedly deducted.

As of present, there is no information as to whether the educator will be facing charges. In the meantime, it has been agreed that the school will pay for the victim’s medical expenses.

Traditionally, Chinese parents would allow and even expect the use of corporal punishment by their children’s teachers, believing that it is important to discipline one’s children.

In fact, it is so embedded in the culture that there is a saying that can be translated as “to beat is to love, to scold is to show affection.”

With parents now more protective and better taught how to care for their children, however, this societal attitude is slowly shifting.

More and more cases of domestic abuse are being used to teach the public, bringing to light just how cruel and harsh the educators can be within the walls of the system.

With more reports being made, hopefully, this cycle of abuse will soon come to an end.
